Vancouver Island · Canada
A long-term home for businesses built to last.
Roaring Coast is a Vancouver Island-based operating company. We build new ventures, acquire and own established businesses, and support capable operators for the long term.
We are rooted on the west coast, but the businesses and people we work with can be anywhere.
What we do
A few ways we put a long view to work.
01
Build new ventures
We turn promising ideas into focused businesses, providing the patience and practical support required to establish strong foundations.
02
Acquire enduring businesses
We look for established companies with useful products or services, healthy fundamentals, and a distinct identity and strengths worth preserving.
03
Support the companies we own
We provide strategic and operational support while giving capable leaders room to run their businesses.
04
Partner selectively
When interests and values align, we work with founders, operators, investors, and other partners to pursue opportunities together.
What we look for
What we look for
We're open-minded about industry and structure, but the strongest opportunities tend to share a few qualities.
- A product or service that creates genuine value.
- Sound underlying economics.
- A capable, committed operator or team.
- Customers who have a reason to stay.
- Room to improve without sacrificing what already works.
- An owner who values continuity, independence, and a thoughtful transition.
- A time horizon measured in years rather than quarters.
We are based on Vancouver Island and open to opportunities beyond it. Rather than limiting ourselves to one industry, we consider each opportunity on its individual merits.
How we work
A steady way of working.
Think in years
We make decisions with the next chapter in mind, not the next quarter.
Protect what works
Growth should strengthen a good business, not erase the qualities that made it successful.
Give operators room
Leaders perform best with clear expectations, practical support, and genuine trust.
Stay close to the work
Good decisions come from understanding customers, people, and day-to-day realities.
Keep learning
Curiosity helps us see possibilities without assuming we already know the answer.
WHAT WE'RE BUILDING
Different problems. Focused businesses.
Roaring Coast is building across multiple areas, with each business shaped around a particular problem and audience.
